About Show more

Mary Miss received her BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and her MFA from Rinehart School of Sculpture, Maryland Art Institute. She has been highly awarded, receiving honors such as the Medal of Honor, American Institute of Architects in 1990, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1986, and been a National Endowment of the Arts award winner thrice. According to her website, "Mary Miss has reshaped the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, landscape design, and installation art by articulating a vision of the public sphere where it is possible for an artist to address the issues of our time."
