Buster Simpson is an eminent Seattle-based environmental artist. Since receiving his MFA in Sculpture from the University of Michigan, he has been commissioned for over 40 works of public art throughout the United States and Canada. Simpson’s installations often provide commentary on environmental issues of climate change and water management. He draws upon elements of the physical site and incorporates them into his sculptures, connecting the work to its space. Simpson has been featured in several books and has received numerous grants and awards, including the Mayor’s Arts Award (Seattle, WA) and the PAN Artist of the Year Award (Washington, DC).
