Located at the north end of New York's famed Museum Mile in the 1920's-era Heckscher Building, El Museo del Barrio has been promoting Latino art and culture since 1969. Gruzen Samton renovated and expanded the first floor of the museum. Improvements include treatment of the lower facade, redesign of the entry courtyard, updates to the building lobby, and enlargement of the existing museum shop.
