The Center for Architecture is a hub for all interested in the built environment. It is a place to gather, share, learn, honor, and advocate. Its mission is to:

* Provide a center of learning for the public and building industry professionals in order to improve the quality of the built environment

* Explore cutting-edge topics, technological innovations, and other issues concerning the built environment

* Foster an exchange and collaboration among members of the design, construction, and real estate community

* Promote an appreciation of New York's unique urban fabric

* Inspire community values and provide fellowship opportunities

* Promote cultural tourism of New York City's architecture.

The Center for Architecture is home to the AIA New York Chapter, the Center for Architecture Foundation, the Architecture for Humanity New York City Chapter, the Illuminating Engineering Society of New York, the New York Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY). The 12,000 sf storefront contains a public resource center, auditorium, library, meeting rooms and three levels of gallery space all open to the public.
